Spray Tan Preparation
Exfoliate:
Begin preparing your skin 24 hours before your spray tan appointment. Use a gentle
exfoliating scrub to remove dead skin cells. Focus on rough areas like elbows, knees,
and ankles.
Shampoo Your Hair:
During your exfoliation shower 24 hours prior to your spray tan appointment, be sure
to shampoo your hair and use any necessary conditioners as you will not be able to
shampoo your hair or use any soap for 24 hours after your spray.
Shave or Wax:
If you need to remove hair, do so at least 24 hours before your spray tan appointment.
This allows your pores to close, reducing the likelihood of irritation from the spray tan
solution. Rinsing with cool water helps too!
Avoid Moisturizers:
On the day of your spray tan appointment, refrain from applying any moisturizers,
oils, or lotions to your skin. These can create a barrier that prevents the spray tan
solution from adhering evenly. If you’ve applied moisturizer the day before your spray
tan, be sure to take a quick shower, rinsing thoroughly with warm water, prior to your
spray tan appointment.
Skip Makeup and Deodorant:
Remove any makeup, deodorant, and perfume before your appointment. These
products can interact with the spray tan solution and affect its outcome.
Wear Loose, Dark Clothing:
Choose loose-fitting, dark-colored clothing to wear to your appointment. Tight
clothing can rub off the tan prematurely, and dark colors won’t show any potential
stains from the spray tan solution.
Prepare for Aftercare:
Plan to avoid activities that may cause you to sweat or get wet prior to rinsing your
spray tan. This allows the solution to fully develop and set on your skin.
Enjoy your glow!
